Why Do Cars Have Hood Scoops.

Hood scoop: “A bonnet/hood scoop, sometimes called bonnetairdam/air dam, is an upraised component on the hood of a motor vehicle that either allows a flow of air to directly enter the engine compartment, or appears to do so. It has only one opening and is closed on all other sides.”

When driving on the road you see many cars with vents or hood scoops on their car and have you ever wondered what is the use of them. The primarily use of a hood scoop is to cool the engine so it doesn't heat up too much and in most cases its used to provide cool air to the intake which for a vehicle is important, to produce power the engine requires air to be in the engine to ignite the fuel because without air there is no fire, in other words you need air for the car to run and the cooler the air the better it is for the car.
